New Featured Strategy; the Bull vs Bear Play of the Week.

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Ladies and gentlemen, for your viewing pleasure I’m announcing a new strategy that I will be employing at this site to exploit the bias in a ratio chart for profit, no matter what the broader market direction. What’s a ratio chart? It’s a chart that reflects the performance of one stock when directly […]

Market direction thoughts

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Well we are getting the impulse 3 up after all. I am flat futures having stopped even on both entries. And at this rate, Vector might close bullish tonight. I would welcome that turn of events. I’m actually seeing long-term TA potential for strong rally to Dow 11500, SPX to 1350, […]

WIRE; time to close

Monday, July 24th, 2006

Previous posts re WIRE at http://www.technicaltrades.net/index.php?s=wire.
The WIRE short setup got to +3.5% profit last week, and given early strength with gap up today closing for breakeven at 33.57 is the wise course of action. There are better shorts out there I think, such as PLAY this morning’s strength to current prices of 9.10.

CERS monthly C

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

Time to stalk at $5.00 for the good r/r I think. It should coincide with a 5th down completion too. I note the money flow on the weekly chart really hasn’t been so bad this year. In recent months I’ve posted a few pretty bearish charts for CERS, and it’s hard […]

PLAY short

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

This is a recent Burnt Toast Award winner. Sets up short the open on Monday. Original post for PLAY Burnt Toast Award can be found HERE.
Other posts since can be seen HERE, and HERE.
This current chart highlights the extremely bearish nature of this stock. Target is $1.00 or +89% from […]

EBAY short Thursday +5.66%

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Further to the bearish setup with charts POSTED HERE for EBAY, the short entry on Thursday POSTED HERE was rewarded with a near-perfect entry and the position moved nicely green to +5.66% the last 2 days. Stop to even and see what the market delivers.

More Green…..EFA long update

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Further to THIS POST and THIS POST, EFA has rewarded +2.63% from the add and 0.27% from the initial to form a bull flag on the hourly after the test of the island gap support. The inverted SHS is also clear and a bullish neckline break would target 71.70, or +15.6% from my average […]

Vector summary for Friday July 21

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

Self explanatory chart; see notes. Another fine performance of Vector for both scalpers and swing traders. The bias was swing short all day, and all signals were swing shorts.
Vector for Monday? Vector closed bearish again yesterday. So swing short is the bias for Monday.
Technically, the DOW daily […]

WIRE the call turns green

Friday, July 21st, 2006

Further to THIS POST the WIRE short from 33.57 turns into +2.5% profit, after coming close to stopping out. The last 2 sessions has seen it move in the expected bearish fashion to +2.5% from entry. Stop to even when +4% would be a wise approach to a trade like this one.

Vector summary for Thursday July 20.

Friday, July 21st, 2006

Yesterday’s signals:

A great example of how Vector applied to Dow futures can work well for both scalpers and swing-traders.
Just like life; nothing is perfect and the 1st signal failed when applying good risk control and my preferred stop of -30. But had you used a -35 point stop on the first position and […]

GYMB bearish but…..

Friday, July 21st, 2006

An example of why you should pass on a short setup.

This chart HERE shows the poor money flow on the daily, with a recent bearish zero line reject. Volume by price suggestive that it is heavy up top and thin down to the gap support down near 26.00. From the suggested […]

MSFT earnings play short

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

MSFT has popped after hours and I just took a short at 24.20 to risk 2%. I’ll add charts later, but this pop is a fuzzy C corrective move on the daily. It’s anticipatory prior to C confirming, but the daily gap resistance and daily band resistance here offers good r/r. I […]

GOOG long

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

GOOG sets up long at current levels with excellent reward/risk parameters.
Today’s intraday pivot is 398.43, just a little below the daily fuzzy C area and worthwhile as entry point; and I note price is sitting there right now (a little over it now as I type this).
475.11 price resistance […]

EBAY short

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Took a fresh short a little while ago at 25.96 with 1% risk stop placed above the intraday fuzzy C.

EBAY

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

2% risk stop was taken this morning for my overnight short. And I note the 2-day head and shoulders formation for it now. I am going to wait for the KOD (Kiss of Death), which is break of neckline and then price strength to the neckline resistance. I’ll use a 1.4% risk […]

EBAY short

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Re the earlier post today (CLICK HERE) I shorted 26.70 and bailed for a push after the entry was poor. Just opened a fresh short at $27.00 and risking 4% on the trade. Target is $15.87 at this stage. EDIT: Lowered stop and 2% risk was taken overnight. Stalking for the […]

Vector in review.

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Vector bias was scalp long today, as previously posted.
The first scalp long stopped out for -10 points.
Here is the 2nd signal results:

YHOO

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

The hit last night after earnings sets YHOO up for a visit to around $15.00, the daily/weekly SHS projected target. A huge gap down on volume should not be ignored. The bollinger band action today is EXTREMELY bearish and long is wrong at this time as far as short-term bias. There […]

EBAY earnings play

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Further to THIS POST and THIS POST I note that EBAY is still doing the weekly 5th down. The daily fuzzy count I mentioned earlier (being in a 5th down) transitioned into subwaves, a common occurrence in wave analysis. The current fuzzy count shows that it is doing an ‘a’ up.
It’s […]

PRX stops even

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Further to THIS POST I note this position stops for even after a +4% move. The bull is snorting and it’s not so surprising that even Burnt Toast gets a lift. I’ll post any future setups I happen to see.

EFA

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

The mouse was in the air, and it got nailed!
Further to yesterday’s post for the EFA add HERE, I note today’s bullish pop that sends the full position into profit and maintains the island reversal from mid-June. Lots of green hope for this one.

The Dow

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Further to THIS POST HERE there has been a nice solid rally off that support where I took profits at the ideal support location for my YM swing short MENTIONED HERE. You’ll recall I covered into weakness during a 5th wave down (click here for chart).
Vector closed bearish last night and the swing bias […]

WIRE bearish

Wednesday, July 19th, 2006

Further to my bearish TA post for WIRE HERE, I note that there was some very nice impulsive selling for as much as +22% profit in early June.
And today WIRE produces a channel short. Target for the short is the weekly SHS target of 14.00 or +58% profit. For a […]
